Applications open for the 8th edition of the ISEP Mentoring Programme

Recruitment of mentors is now open for the 8th edition of the Mentoring Programme at the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic of Porto (ISEP), for the 2026/2027 academic year.

This programme was created to support the integration of first-year students, fostering a more guided, structured and positive transition into academic life.

With this in mind, we are looking for students who: show motivation to support their peers on their academic and personal journey; recognise the value of continuous guidance throughout the year, especially in the early stage of higher education; can relate to the challenges of adapting to a new environment, often marked by being away from family and by the demands of new responsibilities; want to actively help reduce feelings of insecurity, disorientation or isolation among new students; and value the integration experience they had at ISEP and now wish to give it back to future colleagues.

Who can be a mentor?

Applications are open to second- and third-year students of any bachelor's degree at ISEP.

Why does your role matter?

Starting higher education can be a period of great demand and transformation, and it is not always an easy one.

The ISEP Mentoring Programme is therefore an institutional response that connects more experienced students with those beginning their academic journey, promoting a more supported, inclusive and positive university experience.

Applications are open until 7 September at 09:00.

On completing the programme, mentors receive a certificate.
